In Dealer Admin, you can now disable door unlock on Request to Exit on an X1 or X1-8 system when a Request to Exit event is received. To allow the door to remain locked when a Request to Exit input is received, simply disable the Unlock on REX option. This is an excellent feature for applications using door strikes, allowing you to keep the door strike from automatically unlocking when a Request to Exit input is received.

You’d want to keep your doors locked, for instance, if there’s a disturbance in your parking lot. Employees or customers inside may approach the door to see what’s happening outside, however, the door doesn’t automatically unlock when the Request to Exit is triggered, although they can open the door using the latch. For cases like this, you’re adding security and the ability to detect a door forced open event, even when a user is standing inside the door.
