DMP Encourages Dealers to Join in Aiding Joplin, Missouri, Tornado Victims

Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) is encouraging members of the DMP Authorized Dealer Network to join in supporting relief efforts for tornado victims in the Joplin MO area. The tornado struck on Sunday, May 20, killing over 125 people and destroying thousands of homes and buildings. DMP is providing aid via support of Convoy of Hope, a Springfield-based charity that provides disaster relief and other humanitarian services around the world.

“Our hearts go out to the people stricken by the tornado in Joplin,” said DMP President Rick Britton. “The city is only an hour west of our location. They are literally our neighbors, so many DMP employees have friends and family there. We feel a special need to support them in this time of great need, and are fortunate to be able to rely on Convoy of Hope, a respected, international aid organization that’s based right here in Springfield, to provide aid to the hurt, hungry, and homeless of Joplin.”

Every dollar donated to Convoy of Hope is leveraged into seven dollars worth of food, water and supplies. DMP is supporting the relief effort by matching donations dollar for dollar with their employee contributions, so that every DMP dollar contributed is leveraged into two dollars and ultimately $14.00 of relief supplies.

Convoy of Hope, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was founded in 1994. It has served more than 43 million people throughout the world through international children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches, and disaster response. The organization earned a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator.
