DMP Releases Virtual Keypad App Version 2.0 in the Android Market

Featuring Z-Wave support for DMP Panels

DMP (Digital Monitoring Products) has released the Virtual Keypad™ App Version 2.0. With the Virtual Keypad™ App Version 2.0 and the 783Z Module, users can benefit from the new Z-Wave features with their XT Series™ Burglary/Fire/Door Access Panel and XTL™ Wireless Security System. End users can now control a variety of devices in their home or small business using DMP MyAccess™ text commands or the Virtual Keypad™ App Version 2.0 on smart phones or tablets.

“Users have been eager for the convenience and functionality promised by home automation systems, but were deterred by the complexity and high price,” said Vice President of Sales, Mark NeSmith. “Z-Wave devices, used in conjunction with DMP panels, offer a simple, low-cost way for home and business owners to add these much desired remote control features.”

The initial DMP offering includes several popular Z-Wave devices:

  • Light and Appliances: Just plug-in the Z-Wave device, then plug in a light or appliance. Turn lights on/off, or dim them. Works with incandescent and fluorescent lights.
  • Door Locks: Keyless Entry Door locks available in Polished Brass, Satin Nickel and Venetian Bronze.
  • Thermostats: Installs just like a standard thermostat. Provides full remote control over temperature and fan settings.

Mobile users can take remote control of their Z-Wave devices via a cell phone or other mobile device using either of the two DMP mobile platforms; MyAccess or the Virtual Keypad App.

MyAccess makes it possible to send commands and receive alerts from any text-capable phone. There’s nothing to download or set up. Using MyAccess is a simple as texting the message “Lock Front Door.” System alarms and alerts are also received via text message.

The Virtual Keypad App Version 2.0 is downloaded to a smart phone or mobile device. It provides all the functions of the security system keypad right on the mobile device. Users tap the buttons on the crisp, visually pleasing display to control any of the connected Z-Wave devices or to use and of the standard alarm system functions. The app even features the user’s local temperature, based on their ZIP Code, on the main screen, a very nice added convenience.

Dealers will enjoy new RMR opportunities and can take a modular approach to what they offer customers. For example, if you don't want to offer and support Z-Wave thermostats, then you can tailor your offerings accordingly, as DMP Marketing Materials support these items individually.
