DMP Solution for Full Programming Honeywell VISTA Panels

By Aaron McGhee
Product Manager of DMP control panels

When you need to upgrade Honeywell VISTA panels, DMP offers solutions that can make it easy to do. Our CellCom Universal Alarm Communicator, for instance, provides ECP communication with VISTA panels, giving customers the flexibility to arm, disarm, and manage their user codes, all with the powerful, industry-leading Virtual Keypad™ app.

We also offer full-programming capabilities with VISTA panels. DMP's DualCom Dual Alarm Communicator can be connected to a VISTA series ECP bus, and with Remote Link™ Version 1.92 gives you the ability to program the Honeywell panel remotely using Honeywell’s Compass downloading software.

By selecting ECP Passthrough on Remote Link version 1.92, you have the ability to communicate with Compass software, which will connect it to the appropriate panel for full programming. With this capability through DMP's DualCom — and soon with CellComs — our dealers can easily maintain VISTA panels they have taken over using the DMP communicator.

For example, if your customer needs to add a door contact, you can easily add that zone and do the programming remotely. You’ll use Compass to connect through the DualCom or CellCom to remotely program in that new zone and send communication to the VISTA panel.

This new solution also gives you a way to connect to older VISTA panels with dialer communicators only. As phone lines drop out, now you have a way to add a device to those older panels and a way to program them. You don’t need to replace them or get a Honeywell device to do the job. The DMP communicator facilitates it for you.

Your customers will continue to have the flexibility to use their Virtual Keypad apps for the ultimate convenience in managing their systems. And for reliability, our DualCom alarm communicators are designed with integrated primary and secondary communication in a single design.

By using the network connectivity as the primary communication path, the system will receive the fast speeds of the IP connection whenever possible. However, if the primary IP path drops out for any reason, the secondary cellular path picks up communication almost instantly.

The new DualCom Series includes commercial fire and residential fire installations with primary network communication, secondary cellular communication, and two sets of tip and ring terminals. It meets the NFPA 72 standard for single communications technology.

There are non-fire options too. Regardless, each module has built-in LTE cellular backup that provides a fully supervised alarm communication path over AT&T’s or Verizon’s LTE Networks. As with earlier-generation products, the LTE communicators are designed to work with digital cellular service from SecureCom Wireless™ — enabling dealers to get systems up and running quickly.
