NASHVILLE, TENN., June 20, 2018— DMP announced today its 2018 ESX Innovation Awards in three categories. In the Installation/Service Tools category is DMP’s Dealer Admin 2.0; in the Mobile Apps for Consumers category is DMP’s Virtual Keypad™ 6.0; and in the Hosted/Managed Access Systems category is DMP’s Virtual Keypad Access.
Receiving the awards at the ESX show this month in Nashville, Tennessee, is Mark Hillenburg, executive director of DMP’s Marketing Department. “ESX is an important show for us, and it’s an honor to see three of our major company initiatives win the innovation award,” he says. “We’re excited that others see the value in these programs.”
Virtual Keypad 6.0
Among the three category winners, DMP’s feature-rich mobile app gives users remote control over their residential or commercial security systems. Virtual Keypad Version 6.0’s user interface makes it simple and fast for users to navigate their alarm systems, whether they’re across the room or across the country.
Users can easily be added or deleted as needed. Once they’re added, users have numerous features, all at their fingertips. For instance, from the customizable Arming screen, users can arm and disarm their systems or individual areas, view event history, control their devices, check zone status, and view cameras. Customers with XR150 or XR550 panels will also have a Lockdown button on the Arming screen. With a single click, all door devices programmed as a public door and Z-Wave® locks will lock or unlock on the system.
Virtual Keypad Access
The same powerful app that allows users to remotely control their DMP security systems also offers fully featured access control for businesses of any size. DMP’s Virtual Keypad Access provides the flexibility to remotely manage system users, schedules, and profiles, plus control public doors, as well as view and record video. In fact, at its booth during the show, DMP announced the addition of multiple commercial video options, which are coming soon, including Open Eye, Digital Watchdog, Hikvision, I-View Now, and SecureCom video cameras and NVRs. In combination with its other access control features, DMP now has an even more comprehensive platform to offer businesses of all sizes.
Because it’s maintained via the Cloud, Virtual Keypad Access allows consumers to remotely manage their own systems, or it can be managed for them by their dealers. Either way, the combination of intrusion and access control in one platform makes for a powerful and economic package for security companies and their customers.
“Security companies can grow their businesses by helping their customers drive down costs, not only in personnel requirements to manage access control, but also in the cost of the systems,” explains Adam Kinder, DMP’s product manager for Access Control. “Likewise, dealers have less installation time and monthly costs so they have lower overhead expenses. They can secure more recurring revenue by charging a premium for services like intrusion, managed access control, and video all in a single web-based or mobile app. Their customers benefit by not having to take care of it themselves.”
Dealer Admin 2.0
DMP’s third category winner, Dealer Admin 2.0, is an administrative portal giving dealers and their staff easy access to their customers’ information. Version 2.0 also includes the ability to manage technicians’ access to customers’ accounts and therefore take greater advantage of DMP’s Tech APP for faster installations.
Having an administrative platform that is well organized makes it easy for dealers to navigate; hence, spend less time doing administrative tasks, Hillenburg says. Other new features allow them to market their services more strategically and proactively — the Customer Systems Map, accessible from the dashboard, is one such example. Now dealers can zoom in to a specific area on the map to view their customers’ addresses in street view or satellite and apply a filter to see if any of their customers are experiencing alarms, power outages, or trouble with a carrier’s cell coverage. This allows them to work proactively to resolve issues before their customers call with problems. Dealers can also pull customized reports from their customer data base for targeted marketing strategies or to identify selling opportunities for additional services.
“All three of these award-winning programs give our dealers the tools they need to reinforce value and brand loyalty among their existing customers and grow with new ones,” Brad Tucker says. “We’re honored to be among this year’s award recipients and equally honored to partner with our dealers in providing the services their customers want.”
