(March 28, 2012) – Kwikset® announces today that it has partnered with Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) to expand the availability of its Z-Wave compatible, electronic SmartCode locks with Home Connect technology. This collaboration unites the authority in residential lock systems with a leading wireless security system provider, allowing consumers control over their whole home security. The partnership allows homeowners to control and monitor their front door from their mobile phones or tablets, using DMP MyAccess™ text commands or the Virtual Keypad™ App Version 2.0.

When teamed with DMP wireless security systems, Kwikset’s Home Connect Technology allows homeowners to remotely monitor, lock and unlock their front door from a cell phone or other mobile device using either of the two DMP mobile platforms; MyAccess or the Virtual Keypad App.
DMP MyAccess makes it possible to send commands and receive alerts from any text-capable phone without having to download additional software. Using MyAccess is as simple as texting the message “Lock Front Door.” When the front door is locked, a text message is sent back to the end user confirming their home is secure.
The Virtual Keypad App Version 2.0 is available for download on a smart phone or mobile device. It provides all the functions of the security system keypad right on the mobile device. Users tap the buttons on the crisp, visually pleasing display to control their Kwikset locks and use any of the standard alarm system functions. Along with the security system functions, the app features other amenities like the local temperature for added convenience.
